**Position Overview:**
They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join their executive team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly within the financial services sector. This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing our cybersecurity strategy, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– **Strategic Leadership:**
– Develop and lead a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and risk appetite, with a focus on providing solutions tailored for financial services.
– Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and governance of the organization.
– **Risk Management:**
– Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks, implementing appropriate mitigation and response strategies.
– Lead threat intelligence initiatives to proactively identify security threats and vulnerabilities, particularly relevant to financial operations.
– **Compliance & Governance:**
– Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including GDPR, PCI-DSS, SOX, and others specific to the financial sector.
– Establish governance frameworks for information security, ensuring that policies, procedures, and guidelines are current and effective.
– **Team Development:**
– Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
– Encourage professional development and training opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
– **Incident Response & Business Continuity:**
– Oversee the incident response framework, ensuring swift and effective responses to cybersecurity incidents while minimizing impact on business operations.
– Develop, implement, and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
– **Stakeholder Engagement:**
– Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry forums, and partners, to promote a security-focused culture.
– Communicate cybersecurity initiatives and risk posture to the board of directors and other senior executives.
– **Technology Integration:**
– Evaluate and implement advanced security technologies and tools to enhance the organization’s security framework, especially in the context of financial transactions.
– Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security into the development lifecycle and operational processes.
**Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) is highly preferred.
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a significant portion in leadership roles within the financial services industry.
– Strong understanding of cyber threats and risk management practices, particularly in the context of financial operations and data protection.
– Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide security strategies that encompass risk management, compliance, and incident response.
– Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
– Experience with regulatory compliance related to cybersecurity in the financial services sector is essential.
